ISMART 43903 IoT Evaluation Board

The ISMART43903C-EVB is an embedded 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 /b/g/n, evaluation board that is populated with the  ISM43903-R48-L54-E/U is an embedded 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi module.

The Wi-Fi module hardware consists of a Cypress 43903 SOC with ARM Cortex-R4 clocked at 160 MHz (in 1× mode) or up to 320 MHz (in 2× mode), an integrated antenna or optional external antenna, 1 MB of SRAM and 640 KB ROM available for the applications processor, SPI or UART interface capability.

A secure and stable Wi-Fi connection to Azure IoT cloud

Inventek announces Microsoft Azure cloud support with STM32L4 Discovery IoT kit using the Inventek ISM43362-M3G-L44 802.11 b/g/n compliant Wi-Fi® module. This eS-WiFi module utilizes Inventek firmware, IWIN C3.5.2.x_SPI_STM. The IoT Discovery kit has been qualified for connection to Azure cloud.

Azure IoT Wi-Fi Connectivity

Inventek and ST Microelectronic s has developed this project to allow OEM’s to quickly integrate Wi-Fi over a SPI host interface running the MQTT protocol. The STM32L4 Discovery Board for IoT with the ISM43362-M3G Wi-Fi module can be purchased from Digi-key , P/N B-L475E-IOT01A. The Cube project for Azure, is an STM32Cube function pack that was developed for this kit and it can be downloaded here, FP-CLD-AZURE1.

The STM32 IoT Discovery Kit Node is an Arm® Cortex®-M4-core-based developer kit and supports a full set of low power wireless connectivity options and environmental, motion and ranging sensors.

Azure IoT C SDK is integrated into the middleware of this function pack, which enables direct and secure connectivity to Azure IoT Hub, as well as full support for Azure device management. Furthermore, the platform specific adaptors which plug into the C SDK are available in source code. Developers can leverage this port across different MCU families using the hardware abstraction layer and STM32Cube.

The STM32L4 Discovery kit for the IoT node (B-L475E-IOT01A) allows users to develop applications with direct connection to cloud servers. The STM32L4 Discovery kit enables a wide diversity of applications by exploiting low-power multilink communication (BLE, Sub- GHz), multiway sensing (detection, environmental awareness) and ARM® Cortex®-M4 core-based STM32L4 Series features. Arduino™ Uno V3 and PMOD connectivity provide unlimited expansion capabilities with a large choice of specialized add-on boards.

ISM14585 BLE 5.0 Module

The ISM14585-L35 SiP (System in Package), is the smallest, lowest power and most integrated Bluetooth® 5.0 solution available. The ISM14585-L35 SiP is an embedded wireless Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) IoT radio, based on the Dialog Semiconductor DA14585 radio SoC (System on Chip).

The ISM14585-L35 is ideal for applications such as remote controls, beacons, connected sensors and innovative medical devices. Among the new features, the ISM14585-L35 supports Data Packet Length Extension, Link Layer Privacy v1.2, Secure Connections, Bluetooth low energy and Efficient connectable Advertising.

Inventek announces AWS IoT™ support with STM32L4 Discovery IoT

Inventek announces Amazon AWS free RTOS support with STM32L4 Discovery IoT kit using the Inventek ISM43362-M3G-L44 802.11 b/g/n compliant Wi-Fi® module running Inventek’s AWS cloud firmware called  IWIN  C3.5.2.x_SPI_STM.  The ST Microelectronics Discovery kit  and has been qualified for connection to AWS cloud.

This Discovery kit is running the Amazon Free RTOS on an Ultra-low-power STM32L4 Series MCUs based on Arm® Cortex®-M4 core. The STM32L4 Discovery IoT kit model # (B-L475E-IOT01A) uses the Inventek Wi-Fi® module programmed with our IWIN firmware that supports AWS,  part number  ISM43362-M3G-L44-SPI-C3.5.2.5.STM.

The ISM43362-M3G-L44-E/U is an embedded 2.4 GHz  Wi-Fi  module. The Wi-Fi module hardware consists of a Cypress CYW43362, an integrated antenna or optional external antenna, and a STM32F205 host processor that has a SPI or UART  interface capability.

The Wi-Fi module requires no operating system and has an integrated TCP/IP stack that only requires a simple AT command set to establish connectivity for your wireless product. Inventek Systems Introduces the ISM43903 Low Cost Wi-Fi Module with Expanded Memory Capability for IoT applications

August 20, 2018- Inventek Systems announces the release of the ISM43903 low cost Wi-Fi module for IoT applications. The ISM43903-R48-L54 is an 802.11 b/g/n, FCC/CE certified Wi-Fi module based on the Cypress CYW43903 embedded wireless system-on-a-chip (SoC). The module includes a 160 MHz ARM Cortex-R4 applications processor with 1MB SRAM, 640 KB ROM, and 64-Mbit SPI Flash Memory, as well as a second processor that supports a single stream IEEE 802.11n MAC/baseband/radio, a power amplifier (PA), a receive low-noise amplifier (LNA), and antenna.

The Internet of Things (IoT) Dual Core module has the memory and performance to support the increasing demand of cloud connected IoT devices, while using advanced design techniques and process technology to reduce active and idle power. The device is designed for embedded applications that require additional host processor performance and minimal power consumption.

The ISM43903-R48-L54-E/U Wi-Fi module requires no operating system and has an integrated TCP/IP stack. The module can be used with Inventek’s IWIN® AT command set or to develop a custom application on the module using Cypress WICED® Studio SDK. The module is offered in two versions: With a 2.4 GHz PCB etched antenna on the module or with a connector for an external antenna. The module has a 14.5mm x 30mm surface mount footprint.

This module is an optimized SoC targeting embedded Internet-of-Things applications in the industrial, medical, sensor, and home appliance markets.

These issues are notoriously difficult to debug, and as the IoT ecosystem continues to grow with additional features, security requirements and expanding cloud libraries and protocols, an emphasis must be placed on the importance of this additional memory. Stretching the limits in programming when it comes to allocated data can cause limitations without this additional memory. The advantage of the ISM4390X family of modules is the amount of RAM, ROM and flash that allows software engineers all the memory they need at a competitive price to develop their IoT product.

The ISM43903-R48-L54-E/U is in full production today.
