Overview

The ADuCM360_ISM43340_CN0357 is an IoT demo project for the EVAL-ADICUP360 base board and EVAL-CN0357-ARDZ, toxic gas (CO) sensor shield, created using GNU ARM Eclipse Plug-ins in Eclipse environment.

General Description

This project is a good example of how to use the EVAL-ADICUP360 board and Inventek System’s ISMART Wi-Fi Arduino shield in combination with various Arduino sensor shields to precisely measure and send sensor data to cloud. It expands the list of possible applications that can be done with the base board.

The ISMART is an Arduino compatible shield, that consists of an Inventek eS-WiFi module ISM43340 which leverages Broadcom’s BCM43341/0 Dual-Band (2.4GHz / 5GHz) 802.11 a/b/g/n MAC/Baseband/Radio with Integrated Bluetooth 4.0. The ISM43340 module includes an ST microcontroller Cortex M4 STM32F405, with an integrated TCP/IP stack. It requires no operating system and can be controlled with Inventek’s AT Command set (IWIN) or with Broadcom’s WICEDTM SDK.

This project also uses the EVAL-CN0357-ARDZ shield which is a single-supply, low noise, portable gas detector circuit using an electrochemical sensor.

Future of Internet of Things (IoT) and a Quad Wireless Combo Radio

Inventek Systems announced a four function wireless combo module that provides the highest level of integration available for an IoT device. It includes a dual band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n single stream, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Bluetooth 4.0 and Near Field Communications (NFC).

The module is based on Broadcom BCM43341, Quad combo IC and the radios can operate simultaneously. There is time domain multiplexing so Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are not transmitting simultaneously, although to the user it looks that way.

ISM43341-L77sInventek provides Linux drivers for the following processor platforms.

Intel x86, Texas Instruments Beagle Bone Black, Atmel SAM 9, Broadcom BCM5892, Broadcom BCM118211, Freescale iMx6 and Fujitsu

Martin Tierney, Chief Executive Officer at Inventek Systems, expressed his enthusiasm for this family of products: ” The IoT customer applications are extremely exciting with respect to this product rollout. The possibilities of using this cell phone technology, targeted at the IoT market is very interesting and compelling. For example, a medical device can read a Tag over NFC, monitor a sensor over BLE and connect to a cloud or smart phone over Wi-Fi.”

Product is sampling today and production in March 2015. This product is targeted at higher volume OEM customer. Contact Inventek Systems for information and support at sales@inventeksys.com or call us at +1-978-667-1962
